Expanding Impact with GSBans and GSMasterKey
Our Minecraft offering continues to expand as we launch new services and plugins!
LISTEN:
This past month we’ve been working hard to bring more valuable resources to the Minecraft servers. With the new GSBans plugin and GSMasterKey service for new communities, we’re excited to help servers get started on the right foot.
GSMasterKey: Permission and Penalty Settings for New Servers
When first starting a new Minecraft server, one of the challenges new server owners have to overcome is figuring out their permissions and penalties system. This is an important part for a Minecraft server to have on day one, but it requires a lot of experience to know what to implement, and can also be very tedious to set up.
What is “Permission”?
Permissions are what Minecraft servers use to give players various roles, commands, and accessible content. While staff get a set of permissions to fire off chat or investigate who’s mourning a piece of land, other players will be limited to just the game mechanics desired by the server owner.
Even on the most basic server, there may be dozens or even hundreds of permissions to go through and apply, and that number will continue to grow as more features are added to the gameplay. On networks, which allow multiple servers to be connected under a single server address, the complexity and chaos of permissions can be difficult to handle.
Without permissions set at server launch, you can experience mechanical chaos that ruins a player’s first impression of the server.
What is “Punishment”?
Punishments, on the other hand, may be simple to implement in theory, but difficult to train staff as the culture of society begins to develop its own patterns of thinking. Punishments include bans, kicks, mutes, jail, handcuffs, and more, which server staff will use to enforce the rules and prevent disruptive players from doing too much damage to the atmosphere.
But how does the server know what rules to apply? And what things should the staff be aware of before they hand out a permanent ban to any player who makes a mistake? Additionally, each server community is different, and some have stricter or looser rules.
GSMasterKey helps overcome both challenges
Minecraft server owners looking to save time and headaches can now order our new GSMasterKey service. Once booked, we will begin identifying their vision and community needs. Then we’ll develop strategies for their punishment and staff training, as well as managing their player passes!
Once we’re done with setup, we send documentation and notes to the server owner so they can execute their plans and launch the server when they’re ready.
You can learn more about all the details included in the GSMasterKey service by checking the service page, linked here!
